I truly believe the most important thing a woman can do is to discover her identity in Christ. Which explains the opening question...
Who are you?
I'm a mother. A wife. I'm a person who's worthy of love (a fact which took me awhile to figure out). And, oh yes... I'm a writer. That core question of identity finds its way into all my work. It's in the devotions I write for Concordia Publishing House. And it's in my novels.
In The Pastor's Wife, Maura Sullivan ran from a life that tried to stuff her in a narrowly defined box, only to return again and face the congregation - and the husband - she left behind. In The Mother Road (which comes out in April 2012) Natalie Marino is a marriage expert whose identity is ripped away when her husband demands a divorce. While putting her life back together, she finds out that sometimes, the end of the road is just the beginning.

The Pastor's Wife
He loves me . . . he loves me not . . .
Maura Sullivan thought she knew what she was getting into when she married soon-to-be pastor Nick Shepherd. But when “the other woman” in her marriage turned out to be her husband's congregation, she ran. Six years later, she’s back in the small community of Granger, Ohio, for the reading of a will that names both her and Nick as beneficiaries. Now Maura must face the husband – and the congregation – she left behind.
